Background

In the previous joint project cycles the European social partners have dedicated two seminars to focus on social dialogue in candidate countries. This seminar with Turkish social partners will provide an important input to the discussions on social dialogue at European level about how to promote and support social dialogue across different contexts and policy areas.

The seminar will cover topics related to the EU and national level social dialogue such as:

  • Capacity building needs for strong, representative and autonomous social partners organisations
  • Membership development
  • The role of social partners in policy making at all levels
  • The results of the European social dialogue at different levels and their impact and implementation at national level with a focus on the new instruments negotiated

Practical organisation

This seminar will gather social partners from Turkey.

There should be a balance between trade union and employer delegations, and organisations should take gender balance into account when nominating participants. There are approximately

40 places available:

  • 30 national social partners (15 trade unions, 15 employers)
  • Up to 10 EU secretariats and speakers’ experts

Interpretation will be available in English and Turkish.

BusinessEurope is in charge of the practical organisation on behalf of all European social partners.
