Background

BusinessEurope is organising a seminar on the posting of workers in the EU. The seminar is one of the activities realized by the European social partners within the framework of the European Social Dialogue project funded by the European Commission.

The EU and social affairs experts of BusinessEurope’s member federations are invited along with their members, both sector organisations and companies.

National member federation participating in the seminar can be represented by up to three participants. Members of national federations are kindly asked to assist BusinessEurope to find relevant cases illustrating challenges faced by companies that post workers across the EU as well as encourage participation of the interested company and/or sectoral representatives. A number of seats is allocated to representatives of SGI Europe and SMEunited.

Number of participants: about 40 people in total.

Main objectives

  • To complement existing policy work done by BusinessEurope and member federations, by highlighting real-life cases to EC officials.
  • To identify and exchange on examples of good and bad practices and solutions found at national level, to promote learning between employers organisations and companies and give ideas for actions towards national governments.
  • To look into employers’ strategy at the European and national levels to improve conditions for the posting of workers.
