Women Entrepreneurship - A job Creation Engine for SEE (South East Europe)

Summary of the initiative

This project has been implemented by the South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (SEECEL) and the Gender Task Force (GTF) in close cooperation with the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and has been financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

The main goals are:

  • the development of a second-generation Small Business Act for Europe indicators for Female Entrepreneurs;
  • the creation of a Women Entrepreneurs Training Needs Analysis System (WETNAS) at a regional level;
  • the development of training modules and training of trainers based on the results of WETNAS;
  • the definition and promotion of criteria for a best practice selection.

Representatives of the Croatian SME Employers’ Association are included as members in a working group with the task of developing a Training Needs Analysis System for women entrepreneurs.

A questionnaire has been developed via regional meetings with representatives of all countries participating in the project and subsequently every country has developed a local database of women entrepreneurs and performed its own research of the training needs.

The results were presented at a conference in November 2013.
